How to Keep Your Family Safe Online With These Eight Tips Continued ...

The internet provides everyone with a computer, the access 24/7 to information, credit and financial services, and shopping. The Internet is also an incredible tool for educators and students to communicate and learn.

Because of the widespread availability of computers and connections to the Internet, criminals have become quite clever in how they are able to steal your personal information. Criminals can try to gain unauthorized access to your computer and then use that access to steal your identity, commit fraud, or even launch cyber attacks against others. There is no single cyber security practice or technological solution that will prevent online crime, but we can all do our part to limit the harm that can be done by cyber criminals.

Always use your best judgment, and have a set standard of practices that include ethical internet habits as well as using applications and software that will help you to protect your computer.

These safety practices adapted from the National Cyber Security Alliance
